Synopsis

Splint and Sputnik are best friends and sometimes they are also friends with Viola. She is full of beans; she is excellent at coming up with good games. And Splint and Sputnik want to join her. Or do they?

Viola decides that they are going to play families and she thinks that Sputnik looks like a baby. “He is cute”, she says and tugs him into the pram.

Now Sputnik needs to sleep and Splint needs to be the dad, so they are going for a latte at a café, Viola says.

Splint does not want to be the dad, not at all – but how is he going to get that across?

Splint and Sputnik Play Families is a sweet and recognisable story about how difficult it can be to say what you mean, and acknowledge what you really feel like.
